Thoughts, Thinkings, and Ideas!

So why haven't been blogging?

Frankly I didn't realize people actually read this. Like who cares about what I'm doing or thinking? How boring am I? VERY! haha.

Nehow softball is fun. Finished all our 5 home devos.

1. Power: Talked about God's creation and about the micro and the macro and how can you can trust God because he's a powerful God. And powerless gods are pretty dang useless.

Personally I think I went all over the place with this devo. It was alright.

2. Holiness: Had them switch shoes to pair up with people and talk about what set them apart. Of course, what sets God apart is his holiness and it's because of His holiness that He is worthy of being our God.

Personally this was our fun attempt at trying a game. After the stinkiness of it and the shoe sweat I don't think we'll try that one again. It worked fairly well. Holiness is the number one description of God in the bible. Whole books of the bible are about this. (Old Testament).

3. Grace and Mercy - My assistant gov was doing VBC decorations so I was alone on this one. I think this had a good message, and I basically just talked about Jonah for mercy and how mercy is the withholding of punishment. Secondly I talked about Grace and how it was by Grace we have been saved and not by works so we shouldn't boast. And how Grace is giving something we don't deserve. And so hence we don't have to be worthy for God because it is grace we've been saved and if we are Christians we should never boast about it because we aren't better then anyone else. It's just God's grace we've been saved. (I teefed Albert's line from last year. You don't have to be clean to take a bath)

Personally I like this message, I think slowly the intensity was building up. Coach Jackie seemed to really like it. However, feels awkward just standing there talking about it. But don't want to risk another smelly game. hehe.

4. God's love. Let me say that this was the devo I based all the other devos around. It's my aggressive devo. Purely serious and hopefully eye-opening. Nehow just talked about, how God loved us so much that it hurts. Love does'nt mean just fun and games it requires someone to be so attached to you that when you go through pain they go through pain. That lead to John 3:16 which shows how much God loved us. And finally finished off with the story Clean Blood. Which is a very powerful story. The point of this was to show that God is a personal God.

Personally, I liked this devo as it was challenging and pretty dramatic and serious. Also when people cry you know you make some impact, especially when you can hold the non christians and christians attention for 20 minutes.

5. This was a wrap up. I just reiterated about the previous thing. And we had invited Elmo to give his testimony. To show how God actually does make a difference and more of a real life example. Which was cool.

Personally, I can't believe we're done so quickly. It was fun and challenging to prepare devos and I learned tons. Great experience. Very rewarding. haha of course 5 devos in 5 weeks is pretty intense.

Nehow I think I'll post that Clean Blood story later. So stay tuned.
